TUSCANY

Vèscine is located in Radda in Chianti, right in the heart of the historical area for the production of Chianti Classico. The vineyards can reach an altitude of 600 metres and present a favourable sun exposure, a characteristic which make them fit for a highly qualitative viticulture and olive growing. The altitude gives warm days and cool nights during the growing and ripening season and this temperature range gives the grapes their exceptional and unique characteristics.

In 2004 Paladin family started a complete land reorganization for a modern vine growing.
The Colle Petroso vineyard (4 hectares) is grown according to the monolateral cordon training system and has a yield of 5000 plants per hectare.
The Castelvecchi vineyard is located in the north-western part of Radda in Chianti and stretches for 11 hectares. It is Guyot- and cordon trained.

Vèscine vinificates its Chianti wines in the historical Castelvecchi cellar, located right under the castle dating back to the 10th-11th centuries. The cellar has an extent of about 1000 s.m. and enjoys an exceptional  natural air-conditioning (constant 18°C). In the charming premises with rock walls, the wines ages in casks and oak barriques.
